Assessment Services

Assessing your Development/Fundraising Effort

Are you a nonprofit Board Chair, or Board Member? Program Officer? Perhaps the President of a University. Your directly responsible for fundraising and the financial well being of your institution or organization. But that is NOT your profession, so how are you to judge what's working and what's not? Do you have a successful fundraising program or not?

There are many unseen and unnoticed variables. What if you change staff and make a mistake? What if there are simple resources your fundraisers need that would make them highly successful? Maybe you don't have the right people in the right roles?

I offer an Assessment Service for just this situation. As you have read I have been a successful development officer for 32 years. I have crossed boundaries most haven't from large university fundraising to small nonprofit shops. My confidential assessment covers Staff, Board, Resources, Fundraising Environment and more. I look at not only staff but the holistic environment your team is working in. You will get an honest and specific report that pulls no punches and gives no favor. I have the advantage of having visited and trained with hundreds of development teams .Both successful teams and those struggling. One can map the attributes of both after enough experience.

Allow me to marshal these years of experience to help super charge your fundraising !

Key Questions I Commonly Explore

1. What are the skill sets of staff?
2. Is your staff size the right size for your needs?
3. Do you have the right skills in the right seats?
4. Is your Board supportive, active or blocking?
5. What external factors might be hurting fundraising?
6. What external factors might help fundraising if used?
7. Can staff effectively Prospect? How do they acquire new MG prospects?
8. Are events effective at bringing in Major Giving? Or are you wasting resources?
9. Are there morale issues hidden away that are effecting the work?
10. What simple, affordable changes might be made to improve fundraising?
11. Do you need to change staffing?
12. Are their structural issues effecting fundraising? Org Chart issues?
13. Does your staff have the right resources to be effective?
